Seoul, Korea, June 1, 2010 – The Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC) today announced that Dr. Choon Young (Peter) Song has joined the Organization as the Executive Director. The appointment of Dr. Song was approved at the APSCC Council meeting held on May 27, 2010.

As the Executive Director of APSCC, Dr. Song assumes comprehensive responsibility for implementing the policy, plans and decisions set by the APSCC Plenary Meeting, the President, and the Council. His responsibilities also include the management and daily operations of APSCC secretariat office. He will report the operational status of the APSCC Secretariat to the Council biennially, and to the Board of Directors quarterly.

Dr. Song has over 35 years of extensive and diversified supervisory and management experience in civil/military aerospace and commercial industries. Dr. Song holds a B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Ph.D. in Aviation Business Management from the Korea Aerospace University, Korea.
