With the advent of new satellite-based technologies, applications and services, the role of regulatory provisions of the region has become increasingly important. Recently both fixed and mobile satellite services are being severely disrupted by interference from terrestrial-wireless services in the ¡°extended¡± C-band frequencies of 3.4 to 3.7 GHz. This panel will discuss the issues currently faced by satellite operators and service providers including licensing issues, frequency allocations and interference concerns.
